One thing that draws me to photography is my interest in people, watching society and learning. As a child I watched my Grandfather, who had a big passion for photography. He would have his camera at all times and capture found moments among friends and family, a master of vernacular photography! We would all sit around and enjoy the slide shows he would orchestrate, vibrant larger than life pictures projected in the darkness. A memory I cherish.
I now find myself following footsteps and I’ll often walk with a camera, in the streets, park or on the beach somewhere in Adelaide for hours, watching people and their stories, It teaches you so much about who we are and I want to bring that out in my images.
I love finding images in the world, using natural light and bringing into focus what exists for others to see. However, I am a creator and am passionate about my own visions, working in studio and placing light on a subject and building an image from the ground up.
As an Adelaide photographer, providing professional portrait and headshot photography, connecting to my clients and their story, creativity and individuality is key, it helps me give a personal experience, all of us are different and our photographs should be too.
Although I’m closer to the introvert end of the scale, I consider myself lucky to be someone who was born with natural people skills. Empathy is one of a photographers greatest powers, with it we are able to be better at coaching out insecurities that people in front of our lens often have.
